Rhea, thank you for writing this—adding it to my thesis reading list. I haven’t yet read anything that feels so true when it comes to the construction of digital identity that factors in how it can help us find community, but also isolate us from ourselves and community. I really appreciate this article and am glad you decided to offer your assessment at the end. I would argue that Trump’s groupies are more volatile than Bernie Bros, but it’s important to consider the similarities of a mob mentality, no matter the party lines.
