  • Over the last few days, we have developed our surveys and interviews, revised them and put them to work.  For the most part, we found it easiest it to interview the dancers because we are most familiar with them than anyone else in our sample.  Therefore, we decided to start our research interviewing male and […]

  • Hey Devin, I think you did a great job in addressing your topic from every aspect! You have a very well-rounded scope of research regarding tattoos. Another question you may want to ask your participants is how they feel they are perceived by “mainstream” persons (those without tattoos). This could add to your research or […]

  • Hey Kanwal, I think that you chose articles that are directly relative to your project which is great. As for methodology, my only curiosity is how you will utilize photo elicitation. For example, will you ask participants to identify which wedding is which? Will you ask them to explain what they believe is depicted in […]

  • The main goal of the Yes Men is to publicly expose major corporations and organizations whose main interest is solely personal gain.  The ways in which the Yes Men strive to accomplish their goals are by posing as corporate officials, leaders, and spokespersons. In order to gain recognition, they make up phony websites about issues […]

  • In the article, “Signs of Resistance”, what sparked my interest was the amount of  attention given to graffiti.  For example, Operation Clean Sweep “vowed to remove graffiti within 7 days after it was reported to a 24 hour hotline”.  I understand that graffiti is often perceived as disruptive and deviant acts, but to provide this […]

  • Hey Devin, thanks for your comment! I may ask them of the pressures and the consequences they face in being male dancers. My focus is not so much on the male dancers themselves, as it is on the participants I’m questioning about the male dancers. I intend on asking the participants their perceptions of male […]

  • Hey Kanwal, I love how your pictures really tell a story! The outfits and practices you describe are very similar to the Hindu wedding with which I am very familiar. Are you thinking of using these photos in your methodology? Perhaps for photo elicitation? Being that many people may not know about traditional Pakistani weddings, […]

  • Hey Devin, your ethical standards are clear and concise. The only aspect that I am curious about is to whether or not the people you are photographing are comfortable with you publishing their tattoo on your blog or in your research report. Maybe along with the consent form, you specifically state that you may post […]

Hey Kanwal, although people know that they will be photographed for your research project, they may not be comfortable with you publishing it on your blog or on your report. Maybe you should also ask them if they will allow you to publish their pictures. Hope this helps!
