  • The “Men at Work” segment caught my eyes too! It’s pretty interesting to see how this segment seems to be the staple in all editions of the magazine. The makeup artists are men in the film and the magazine, portraying the perpetrators of “beauty standards.” Interesting how men get to decide what makes a woman look beautiful or not.

  • It’s crazy how the lavender pants did not strike me so much until I read your post and realized how it plays a major role in his description, as if it were a part of his identity. And I do also want to add how lavender tends to symbolize “beauty.” And ultimately by the middle of the story, Henry’s beauty is snatched away from him.
