I love your video. I agree with Ikey that the music and photos you used in your film really helped to enhance it. Your film also seemed pretty professional to me and you did an amazing job combining previous films you’ve made into this one. Good job! Yayyyy. Haha.

I like how you took pictures of your sculpture from various angles instead of going around the sculpture like what I and most students did. I also like how you showed various pathways to come upon your sculptural piece.

I really like your introduction for the film. I liked how you shot your feet and then with the transitions showed various parts of Queens College. I also though showing your feet in the video was very cleaver because it felt like you were taking the audience to all these places on campus.

  • Stephanie you’re not alone this happens to me too. 🙁 Sometimes like if I cut or drag a specific clip it would start to freeze the entire program so its like now when I work with Windows Movie Maker I try to save everything I’ve done the chance I get. It would freeze like 100 […]

  • Assessing my own video was more challenging compared to assessing a peer’s. Simply because you knew what you did in your video and what you deserve to get. I felt that it was a bit easier to assess a peer’s work because you’re less biased and therefore your ratings for their work are more honest. […]

  • 5 criteria for assessing Kino-Pravdas: 1. There must be a thesis or central theme that the work of film is trying to convey. 2. There needs to be evidence to support that claim. 3. There needs to be analysis of the evidence. 4. The transition and the structure of the film must be put together […]

In these last few sessions of English class we have been revising our peers writing. I enjoy this assignment because not only does it show me what other people think of my writing however, it allows me to reflect and see what I have to work on. Revising other peoples writing I personally feel has […]

Three rules to writing a good essay according to William Zinsser are: 1. To get rid of clutter 2. He says the secret to “good writing” is to make each sentence as clear and straight to the point as possible. The use to unnecessary or complex words can sometimes hinder the overall work. 3. The […]

Dziga Vertov encourages a revolution of film production towards improving the use of the camera to help capture things that can’t be seen with the naked eye. On page 83, Vertov states that, “We cannot make our eyes better than they have been made, but the movie camera we can perfect forever.” The machine he […]

Vertov’s writing is reflected in his film making. One of Vertov’s main arguments in his writing was that film should come from the point of view of the camera and not the human eye. He boldly states that the human eye is weak and unable to perceive everything, however the camera can be perfected and […]

  • The quote “We cannot make our eyes better than they have been made, but the movie camera we can perfect forever” by Vertov also stuck out to me as I was reading his work. I think it’s very interesting how he makes this argument which serves as one of his main focuses in proving to […]

  • Maya I agree with you that by using the term “we” in Vertov’s writing he created something that made his work the opposite of boring or annoying to read. Vertov does write in a forceful and empowering way, but that’s what makes his writing interesting as well as worth reading because it makes us think.

I agree with the person above. I think you did an amazing job coming up and comparing the scene where Marion was in her car during the storm and when she was in the shower. I didn’t catch that foreshadowing. And I completely agree with you, this movie was really fantastic. It was also my […]

    Cindy I loved your post.
